About the role

  • As an SRE at CircleBlack, you will play a critical role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure and ensuring high availability and reliability for our services. You will work closely with the engineering and operations teams to implement automation, monitor systems performance, and drive continuous improvement. Your expertise in Elastic, Terraform, Ansible, and AWS will be instrumental in maintaining our mission-critical Systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure in AWS.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate deployment and management of cloud resources.
  • Utilize Ansible for configuration management and automation of routine tasks.
  • Administer and optimize Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for monitoring, log management, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed with reliability and scalability in mind.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system and application documentation.
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system and application performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain alerting and monitoring systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
  • Contribute to incident response and post-incident analysis to improve system reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation in SRE processes.
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an SRE or in a similar role, preferably with expertise in Elastic, Terraform, Ansible, and AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, and more.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) and Terraform.
  • Experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Expertise in administering and optimizing Elastic Stack.
  • Strong understanding of system monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of software development and deployment practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Database (RDS) high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • AWS certification(s) (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Previous experience in a high-availability, cloud-based environment.
