About the role

CircleBlack seeks a talented and driven mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic and highly collaborative product development team. The ideal candidate should have experience building web applications using React, Node.js, and MySQL, working with Agile software development methodologies, and hosting SaaS products using AWS. This is a hybrid role, and the candidate is expected to work in the Boston, MA, office with the team three to four days per week. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications that meet the needs of our clients within the WealthTech industry. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications using React, Node.js, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members, including developers, designers, and product managers. 
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment where ideas are shared and explored. 
  • Design and implement scalable and maintainable software architectures 
  • Develop clean, efficient, and reusable code 
  • Write automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the software. 
  • Receive and provide feedback through code reviews
  • Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability 
  • Work with other team members to integrate front-end and back-end components 
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in the application 
  • Maintain build and automated test pipelines and contribute to other DevOps efforts 
  • Work with the team to practice Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban 
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives 
  • Continuously improve the development process by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices 
  • Work with Product Managers to refine requirements and implement high-value features

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field 
  • 1-2+ years of professional experience in software development 
  • Strong JavaScript experience, primarily through React and Node.js
  • Strong understanding of web application architecture, including RESTful APIs, MVC, and microservices 
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js 
  • Experience with React Native mobile development for Android and iOS is a nice-to-have, but not required
  • Experience with SQL, database design, and optimization
  • Experience with Docker and containerization 
  • Familiarity with traditional DevOps process 
  • Experience working with AWS-hosted SaaS products 
  • Experience with Git and version control systems 
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket 
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills 
  • Ability to work in the Boston, MA, office three to four days per week
