Position Description
The IT department supports all business applications for the AFMEPF. Many of the organization’s business functions are supported using in-house custom developed software. This role will work on tasks and projects in Visual Basic ASP.NET, MVC, SQL Server, web/desktop development, Web Services, stored procedures, .NET Framework, Ajax, JavaScript, and CSS.
Primary Responsibilities
Actively participate in team meetings and design discussions.
Work directly with end users to aide in the integration, usage, and support of applications.
Manage and take responsibility of the full development lifecycle of assigned projects. This includes research, analysis, development, testing, QA and deployment.
Develop on the Windows and WebLogic platforms in VB, ASP.Net, Java and XML.
Participate in user acceptance testing; perform overall systems testing and troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving application failures.
Work independently on all levels up to and including moderately complex activities.
Develop complex client business solutions utilizing n-tier technology, back-end (database) technologies, business application servers/logic, connection pools, object-oriented design.
Perform complex problem analysis and resolution.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends, directions, and technologies.
Third Party Applications and External Communications Support
Imaging and Scanning (Kofax)
General Ledger and Accounts Payable (MS Dynamics Business Central)
Data Exchange Import/Export periodic data to Affiliates, Mailing House, Bank and Actuaries.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
1 – 3 years working in a team environment as a software developer
2+ years experience in Visual Basic and ASP.net.
2+ years experience in Java
Visual SourceSafe and/or Star Team (source code repository)
Experience translating technical specifications into multi-tiered application code
Experience in the following platforms: Windows, .Net and WebLogic
Object oriented experience in Internet and Intranet applications
Experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server (Including stored procedures)
Develop GUI based applications (Both web and form based)
Develop SQL stored procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 105,000 USD per year (Fund Office)
