IT Business & Applications Specialist

The American Federation of Musicians and Employers' Pension Fund (AFM-EPF) was established for the exclusive purpose of providing certain pension and related benefits to Covered Employees and their Beneficiaries under the Plan and shall further provide the means for financing and maintaining the operation and administration of the Trust and the Plan in accordance with the Trust Agreement, the Plan, and applicable law. 


Overview:

The IT department supports all business applications for the AFM & EPF. The IT Business & Applications Specialist analyzes the business functions that are supported using custom developed software and collaborates with stakeholders to document enhancement requests, create and develop training and guidance for proprietary and third-party applications. This role also participates in in-office and virtual support for employees.


Job Description


Custom Application Development & Training

  • Develop process and protocol for continuously improving in-house and third-party applications
  • Document processes and make suggestions for improvements or automation
  • Work directly with staff and vendors to aide in the integration, usage, and support of applications
  • Manage workflow of requests from Fund staff for programming or design changes to proprietary custom application to developers
  • Manage and oversee the timely completion of all work requests and track process from ticket open to ticket closure


Business Analysis & Testing

  • Perform complex problem analysis and resolution
  • Test new proprietary custom application releases and developments
  • Report analyzed testing results to Software Developers/Programmers and recommend changes or actions
  • Manage overall systems testing and troubleshooting


General

  • Assist Director of IT with their workload and aide in project management
  • Participate in all in-office and remote desktop staff support functions
  • Actively participate in team meetings and design discussions
  • Work independently on all levels up to and including moderately complex activities
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, directions, and technologies
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned


Qualifications


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; master’s degree is a plus
  • 2 – 4 years of work experience supervising small IT teams and processes
  • 1 – 3 years (beginner to intermediate) experience testing software/business analysis
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Office 365 (Admin), Microsoft Active Directory, Custom Software development
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written

The pay range for this role is:

85,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Fund Office)
