What we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a Full-Stack background to join our engineering team at Disco! As a member of our team you will help us build both exciting enhancements and brand new products. You’ll be joining an extremely diverse and distributed team in a remote-first company that emphasizes efficiency and collaboration. We expect you to be self-motivated, inquisitive, and passionate about building efficient processes for development.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

• Advanced proficiency in a scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, etc.

• Strong grasp of software optimization, scalable architecture, and the application of design patterns and best practices

• Proven track record of unblocking themselves and assisting others through code review and mentorship

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex issues independently

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions to a varied audience

• Strong comfort with both leveraging 3rd party APIs as well as maintaining and building the versioning of internal and external 1st party APIs

• Firm grasp on Agile software development methodologies

• Enjoy working collaboratively within a distributed team

• Comfort in working with containerization (Docker ideally)

Recommended experience (the more, the better):

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering

• 3+ years of experience with some form of SQL (PostgresQL experience is a plus)

• Python/Django web framework 

• Javascript/Node/React experience
