Job Overview:
We're looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our core infrastructure team. You will be working on a mature, fully automated infrastructure stack that helps millions of individuals find the right job fit, and we value individuals who can engage in all stages of the software development process and will empower you to do so.
If you’re passionate about working in a dynamic, fast-growing company — with cutting edge technology, smart colleagues, and opportunities for development — come grow with us!
In this role you get to:
- Orchestration & Scheduling: Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Nomad/EKS clusters on AWS. You will write and optimize job specifications for services and batch jobs.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Own the state of our infrastructure using Terraform. You will write reusable modules, manage state locking, and implement Atlantis workflows.
- Service Discovery & Mesh: Implement and maintain Consul for service discovery, health checking, and service mesh (Consul Connect) capabilities.
- Security & Secrets: Architect a zero-trust security model using Vault. You will manage dynamic secrets, PKI, OIDC authentication, and encryption-as-a-service.
- AWS Management: Manage core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ALB/NLB) with a focus on cost optimization and security best practices.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Deep understanding of MERN stack, build and optimize deployment pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse CI) that interface seamlessly with blue/green or canary deployments.
- Observability: Integrate the HashiStack with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to ensure visibility into cluster health and application performance.
- Be willing to take part in our on-call rotation
- Automate everything possible
We’re looking for people who have:
- Containerization: Solid understanding of Docker and OCI standards.
- Nomad/Kubernetes: Experience running Nomad/Kubernetes in production (not just labs). Understanding of allocators, drivers (Docker/exec), and scheduling constraints.
- Terraform/OpenTofu: Expert-level HCL writing skills, experience with remote state management, and module composition.
- Vault: Experience creating policies, configuring auth methods, and managing secret engines.
- Consul: Understanding of gossip protocols, raft consensus, and service catalogs.
- Packer: Experience using Packer for immutable machine images.
- Cloud Expertise: 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure on AWS. We don’t care about certificates, but we do care about expertise/knowledge.
- Linux Internals: Strong understanding of Linux system administration, networking, and shell scripting.
- Coding: Proficiency in at least one language. Python is preferred since we also have internal tooling that relies on Python.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working with and writing custom Terraform Providers
- Migration experience (moving in between container orchestrators, moving to containerized workloads).
- Excellent diagramming skills
Pssst… you don’t have to check all the boxes to apply!
