Software Test Engineer

Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic Software Test Engineer looking to make a significant impact? Neuronetics is seeking a skilled individual to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the high reliability, accuracy, and robustness of our product and non-product software. You'll be an integral part of our software team, working with both in-house and contract development and test personnel to deliver top-quality software solutions.


Position Overview

As a Software Test Engineer at Neuronetics, you will be deeply involved in the development, testing, and maintenance of our software. Your responsibilities will include creating, developing, and executing Test Plans and Protocols, writing and testing automation tests, debugging software issues, and assisting with the creation and review of requirements and design documentation. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts, leveraging your testing expertise to ensure the highest quality of Neuronetics software.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and execute test plans and protocols for the release of Neuronetics product and non-product software.
  • Work closely with requirements authors and internal/external software development teams to ensure all software requirements are thoroughly tested and documented.
  • Collaborate with our Field Service and Quality Assurance teams to investigate software-related customer issues, ensuring they are tested and documented once corrected.
  • Help manage and maintain software QA defects, ensuring they are documented, fixed, and retested before field or commercial implementation.
  • Assist in the deployment of Neuronetics product and non-product software.
  • Evaluate and implement tools needed for test automation.
  • Write functional and user-interface test scripts and test cases.
  • Perform regression tests and database testing.
  • Interact with developers and field engineers regarding bugs and field reports.
  • Perform other duties as needed or required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Agile & Waterfall Development methodologies.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, NUnit, or SpecFlow.
  • Ability to write, maintain, and analyze performance tests to ensure application scalability using tools like JMeter.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively discuss bugs, issues, and potential impacts with developers and engineering managers.
