OVERVIEW:

The Cybersecurity Engineering Associate supports information security operations in Microsoft Azure environments by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security solutions such as Microsoft Defender, O365 Security & Compliance, and MS Endpoint Management. This role works closely with Engineering and Operations teams to detect vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, enforce compliance controls, and support ISO 27001 and SOC2 audits

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field..
• Industry experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and information security.
• Domain: Cloud security concepts, hardening practices, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Expected: Technical English (documentation, global team collaboration); strong communication, organizational and follow-up skills.
• Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) or Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500 – in progress or preferred).
• Nice to Have: Knowledge of Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and automation/scripting with Python.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Act at the L2 level on security tickets, incidents, and requests related to Azure, O365, endpoints, and networks.
• Perform hardening and continuous monitoring of Azure workloads (VMs, networks, applications).
• Assist in the enforcement of compliance controls (ISO 27001, SOC2) and preparation of audit evidence.
• Contribute to security projects: MFA, identity protection, phishing prevention, DLP, encryption, data classification.
• Participate in security testing (Pentest follow-up, D&R exercises), supporting evidence gathering and documentation.
• Support the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of Microsoft security solutions (Defender, Sentinel, ADFS, policies).
• Document activities, maintain up-to-date runbooks, and propose process improvements.
• Collaborate with Service Desk Analyst and Cybersecurity Engineering Operations for incident escalation.
• Prior experience working at a Managed Services/IT Services company is preferred, and a background in dealing with global teams and remote teams will be a strong plus.
• Given the 24/7 nature of Quartile operations, this person will be required to work after hours and on weekends when necessary and provide on-call support for related system issues on a rotating basis with other team members.
• Programming / Tools: PowerShell, KQL, JSON, Python.
• Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Purview, Confluence, JIRA.

This is a PJ contract based out in Brazil.
