Redeux is executing a multi-market development plan, working with landowners to enhance their property value with clean energy solutions that can be co-located with existing resource extraction,  

ranching, farming, and timber operations. In addition to traditional “greenfield” project development, Redeux targets brownfield redevelopment opportunities to transition fossil to clean-energy solutions that utilize existing infrastructure and reduce the liabilities of legacy operations.

About the Role: 

Redeux Energy is seeking Senior Counsel to support the General Counsel and work especially close with the land team for our growing utility scale solar and storage development company. Redeux’s Legal team is responsible for all legal and risk management initiatives at the company including drafting and negotiating land acquisitionsproject development support, M&A transactions, corporate financing, and corporate compliance. 

 

Position Responsibilities: 

The Senior Counsel will report to the General Counsel and collaborate closely with Redeux’s General Counsel and subject matter experts. 

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following activities:   

  • Provide in-house support to the land team with drafting, negotiation, and risk mitigation regarding real property acquisition (leases, options, easements and surface use agreements). 

  • Assist with addressing critical issues associated with solar and battery storage development such as severed and competing mineral estates, wildlife, wetlands, and other environmental constraints. 

  • Draft, review and negotiate operational agreements such as NDAs and confidentiality agreements, consulting services agreements and procurement agreements. 

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to the company’s subject matter experts on a variety of issues, including but not limited to: contracts, regulatory compliance, M&A, and corporate governance. 

  • Work closely with the General Counsel on asset sales and corporate financings 

  • Research and analyze legal issues and developments affecting the renewable energy industry, especially the solar and solar storage industry. 

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders identifying creative and commercially advantageous solutions to challenges. 

  • Proven track record of handling complex legal matters in the energy industry. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment. 

  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization and maintain a current knowledge of alterations in legislation. 

 

Qualifications: 

Our ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of corporate and transactional experience in-house with a renewable energy company and/or a reputable law firm.  The candidate must thrive under pressure, have exceptional attention to detail, and embrace the attributes of respect, creativity, confidentiality, professionalismand take pride in producing an exceptional work product.  

 

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. 

  • 4-7 years of corporate and transactional legal experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department, familiarity with the energy sector, specifically renewables, is a plus. 

  • Admission to practice law in at least one state in the United States, and an attorney in good standing. 

  • Excellent communication, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills; must also be able to work independently. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • An individual who consistently seeks out and identifies ways to add value to an organization. 


Compensationand Culture 

  • This position is a Full-Time, onsite position located at Redeux’s downtown Denver headquarters. 

  • Base compensation up to $150,000 - $170,000/year DOE and a performance-based, discretionary annual bonus opportunity.

The pay range for this role is:

150,000 - 170,000 USD per year (Denver)
