About the Role

The Estimator is responsible for partnering with the Sales team and Project Managers to scope and estimate time, labor, materials, and costs for jobs. They will also be responsible for monitoring the various bidding platforms we operate and getting bids on jobs and projects that fall into our scope of work performed. 

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Research and locate all potential bids opportunities daily; input all potential bids in tracking software and update weekly
  • Experience in bidding in the property maintenance and construction fields: Temporary Fence, Erosion Control, Sweeping, Pressure Washing, Window Cleaning, Landscape, and Parking Lot Striping. 
  • Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location, and other factors to ensure a high-quality and timely estimate.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions
  • Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase the competitiveness of the bid
  • Review take-off quantities to ensure the accuracy of data used in estimates
  • Use existing cost history and past bid knowledge to compare pricing to complete estimate
  • Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Follow up post bid for bid information, contracts, tabs, etc
  • Follow up post bid for bid information, contracts, tabs, etc
  • Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional or end market
  • Responsible for the monthly inventory controls with the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Learn striping material and help order, track, and receive
  • Learn & Maintain COC's
  • Help PMs gather info for the project's material orders
  • Create POs for material orders
  • Maintain relationships with vendors we use for pricing and materials 

 

 What You Will Need:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience in estimating in the general contracting/construction field is required; pavement marking management is preferred.
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree required
  • Knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities
  • Must communicate effectively in both oral and written form clearly and professionally.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office and very proficient in Excel.
  • Proficient in Gmail and Google Drive
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Always upbeat with a “Can do” attitude
  • Ability to establish and maintain accurate working relations and an open mind.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position will require supervisory skills.
  • Broad-based business acumen and understanding of operational and budgetary expectations
  • Bilingual is a plus

Compensation for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience.
