DevSecOps (DSO) Engineer

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking highly skilled DevSecOps (DSO) Engineers to support the NextGen OPIR Ground Solution program. This role requires expertise in software development, CI/CD pipeline implementation, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will design, develop, document, test, and deploy secure and scalable solutions while ensuring compliance with industry security standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position involves leading DevSecOps initiatives, implementing full CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and maintaining secure cloud-based systems. The selected candidate must be self-motivated, innovative, and capable of solving complex problems in an Agile environment.
1. Plan, conduct, and coordinate DevSecOps and software development activities.
2. Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy software solutions within the NextGen OPIR Ground Solution program.
3. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLabCI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or TravisCI.
4. Apply configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SALT to automate system deployments.
5. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, HEAT, or CloudFormation to manage infrastructure.
6. Deploy and manage cloud services on AWS, Azure, OpenStack, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
7. Work in a RedHat Linux environment and apply automation techniques with Ansible/Ansible Tower.
8. Ensure software development aligns with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps best practices.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD pipeline issues and optimize workflows.
10. Integrate and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (experience preferred).
11. Work on distributed systems, multi-threaded applications, and potential machine learning applications.
12. Apply security best practices in DevSecOps processes, ensuring compliance with security standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 9+ years of experience, or equivalent.
2. OR Advanced degree with 7+ years of experience.
3. Hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools and full CI/CD pipeline implementation.
4. Strong experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SALT for configuration management.
5. Expertise in Terraform, HEAT, or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code (IaC).
6. Experience with AWS, Azure, OpenStack, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
7. Proficiency with GitLabCI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or TravisCI for CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
8. RedHat Linux environment experience.
9. Strong scripting skills with Ansible and Ansible Tower.
10. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps security best practices.
11. Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI (Active TS/SCI preferred).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
12. Expert-level experience with 12+ years of experience (Bachelor’s) or 14+ years (equivalent experience).
13. Knowledge of Kubernetes, distributed systems, and machine learning applications.
14. Experience with HashiCorp Vault and HashiCorp Boundary for security management.
15. Knowledge of JFrog Artifactory / Sonatype Nexus for artifact management.
16. Experience with Dynamic Application Scanning (DAST) tools.
17. Familiarity with Selenium, Sikuli, or Cucumber Gherkin testing frameworks.
18. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
