OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented and motivated CNO Reverse Engineer I to join our team. As a CNO Reverse Engineer, you will leverage your skills in reverse engineering to analyze and interpret complex systems and code, supporting national security objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of assembly languages, malware analysis, vulnerability research, and exploit development, and will contribute to identifying and mitigating cyber threats.

 

REQUIREMENTS

The CNO Reverse Engineer I role requires an experienced professional which involves programming in languages such as Assembly, C, C#, C++, Java, Perl, or Python to support cyber network operations. The engineer will administer and utilize hardware and software reverse engineering tools, applying advanced CNO tools and techniques to analyze and counter cyber threats. Proficiency with software version control tools, like Subversion and CVS, is essential. The role also requires the ability to create and deliver technical presentations, effectively communicating findings and solutions to stakeholders.

1.    Conduct reverse engineering of CNO (Computer Network Operations) tools, malware, and software to understand their functionality, behavior, and vulnerabilities.

2.    Analyze binary files, malware, and exploits to understand how they function and identify vulnerabilities that may be used to exploit systems.

3.    Perform static and dynamic analysis on executables, using a range of tools and techniques, including disassemblers, decompilers, and debuggers.

4.    Research and implement custom analysis tools to assist in identifying novel vulnerabilities and potential exploitation vectors.

5.    Support the design, development, and deployment of new tools and techniques to improve reverse engineering capabilities.

6.    Document analysis results, methodologies, and techniques for knowledge sharing and archival purposes.

7.    Work closely with cybersecurity, intelligence, and software development teams to develop and apply mitigation strategies for identified threats.

8.    Maintain an understanding of the latest research and trends in reverse engineering, exploit development, and computer network operations.


QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Proficiency in assembly languages (x86/x64, ARM, etc.).

2.    Familiarity with disassembly and debugging tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, OllyDbg, or similar tools.

3.    Knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming.

4.    Basic understanding of networking protocols, OS internals, and security concepts.

5.    Exposure to malware analysis frameworks, virtualization technologies, and dynamic analysis techniques.

6.    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

7.    Ability to work collaboratively and communicate technical findings clearly.

8.    Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and techniques in an evolving threat landscape.

9.    Certifications such as GREM, OSCP, or CEH.

10. Familiarity with exploit development concepts.

11. Knowledge of cryptographic techniques and secure coding practices.

12. Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
