OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team focused on meeting emerging operational needs through sustainment and synchronization support to operational baselines Global, Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and three product areas (Situational Awareness, Infrastructure, and Intelligence). Along with sustainment and synchronization, you will focus on modifying and enhancing elements or capabilities to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency, or lower operating/deployment costs incorporating agile technologies and capabilities. Supports commanders and warfighters as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of battlespace within an integrated system that is supporting Joint Warfighter needs today. 


REQUIREMENTS

The position requires in-depth knowledge of the entire software development life cycle. The successful engineer will be able to:

1.    Plan and design the DevOps workflow, to include the full SDLC.

2.    Automate and include the Cyber Security (DevSecOps) in the full DevOps pipeline.

3.    Strong background in Test automation and its inclusion in DevOps delivery

4.    Understanding of the importance of Monitoring in a DevOps environment

5.    Exhibit a positive attitude, a high level of initiative, and must enjoy the challenge of bringing structured notional software solutions to ill-defined environments.

6.    Follow Agile Development process and full life cycle development:  requirements, design, implementation, test, and maintenance

7.    Lead independent technical investigations, provide technical advice, recommend technical solutions, and assist the Government in integrating the GCCS-J functionality into new baselines


QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Design and architecting the environment for developing software applications.

2.    Manage change requests between development, staging, and production environments.

3.    Exhibit a positive attitude, a high level of initiative, and must enjoy the challenge of bringing structured notional software solutions across multiple environments.

4.    Interface with multiple, geographically disbursed development teams and effectively communicate project statuses and barriers.

5.    Attention to detail coupled with the ability to quickly learn new procedures with minimal supervision.

6.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate in a team environment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Experience setting up and managing Kubernetes clusters in production for high availability systems.

2.    Experience developing web/RESTful services.

3.    Experience with cross-platform management (Windows and Unix/Linux data exchange)

4.    Experience with virtual machine environments

5.    Understanding of test-driven software development

6.    System Administration experience of various platforms

7.    Familiarity with running performance tests and finding ways to debug programs.

8.    Familiarity with net-centric technologies

9.    Familiarity with database design/development, and entity framework

10. Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) Systems

11. Ability to apply mathematical and statistical operations towards software algorithms.

12. Background in military intelligence and imagery, or strategic planning

13. Top Secret / SCI clearance
