Field Service Technician

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder Engineering Services is seeking a Field Service Engineer, that will support a large Department of Defense contract. This meaningful work will support the Joint and Naval Task Force active/passive maritime surveillance capability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Service Technician will perform on-call engineering services for maintaining, repairing, installing, testing, retrofitting hardware and software, performing dockside and at-sea troubleshooting, training, and updating documentation for electronic equipment.
Personnel assigned to the Field Service Teams shall comply with guidelines and restrictions as specified and shall ensure the Government is in a readiness posture capable of responding to operational tasking, routine preventative maintenance, and expeditious repair of failed equipment in port.
QUALIFICATIONS
Desire five (5) years of practical hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors, communications systems, navigation systems, and/or sonar systems.
Must have at least an Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or a graduate of US Navy electronics “C” school. Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Desire five (5) years of combined experience in the maintenance and repair of SURTASS Subsystems, SURTASS COMM subsystems, and/or SURTASS arrays. Experience in all three of these areas, versus one or two, is highly desirable.
