OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking experienced DOORS Administrator / Systems Engineers to support requirements management, system integration, and verification efforts for complex satellite ground systems. This role requires expertise in IBM DOORS, DXL scripting, and requirements tracing and verification. The ideal candidate will work on functional analysis, trade studies, system modeling, and total lifecycle management, ensuring customer requirements are systematically translated into complete hardware and software solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a part-time role (up to 30 hours/week), ideal for a highly experienced professional looking to contribute to mission-critical programs while maintaining a flexible work schedule.

1.    Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and system supportability assessments.

2.    Convert customer and product requirements into comprehensive system solutions, considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

3.    Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.

4.    Support requirements writing, decomposition, tracing, and verification activities.

5.    Work within IBM DOORS to manage requirements and ensure traceability across the development lifecycle.

6.    Develop and utilize DXL scripts to optimize DOORS functionality and automation.

7.    Perform automated unit testing to validate system requirements and software integrity.

8.    Apply C++ programming knowledge to system integration and verification tasks.

9.    Work in a Linux environment, ensuring compatibility with development and testing tools.

10. Provide expertise in satellite ground systems, ensuring system reliability and operational effectiveness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 14+ years of experience, or equivalent.

2.    OR Advanced degree with 12+ years of experience.

3.    Extensive experience with IBM DOORS for requirements management and verification.

4.    Strong DXL scripting skills for automation and data manipulation.

5.    Solid understanding of C++ for system integration.

6.    Experience in automated unit testing methodologies.

7.    Hands-on experience with satellite ground systems and requirements management.

8.    Strong background in requirements writing, decomposition, tracing, and verification.

9.    Proficiency in Linux environments for system development and testing.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

10. Senior consultant-level experience with 18+ years of experience (Bachelor’s) or 20+ years (equivalent experience).

11. Recognized expertise in requirements management, system engineering, and validation.

12. Ability to work independently and provide consultative guidance on advanced technical research.

13. Experience working in an Agile development environment.

14. Leadership and mentorship experience in a technical or engineering role.
