OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a Software Engineer in support of the Missile Defense Agency. In this role, you will play a critical role in developing, testing, and maintaining software systems that enhance the agency's missile defense capabilities. This position involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to design secure, reliable software that meets stringent performance and security requirements. The engineer is responsible for coding, debugging, and integrating complex software solutions used in threat detection, tracking, interception, and battle management. Additionally, they ensure the software aligns with MDA's strategic objectives and complies with DoD standards, providing technical solutions that enable real-time decision-making in defense operations. Through continuous testing and upgrades, engineers help maintain robust systems that safeguard national security.
REQUIREMENTS
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging of software applications. This includes researching, identifying, and implementing solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems.
1. Provides New feature implementation that allows for smooth integration with pre-existing systems.
2. Software development using Agile Methodology
3. Utilizing Jira to document bugs and enhancements
4. Software engineering support for multi-language (C/C++, Python, and Java) and complex software systems
5. Enhance usability, performance, and maintainability of systems via analysis and bug fixes.
6. Coordinate, integrate, and resolve defects in conjunction with the test team.
7. Seeking candidates who find satisfaction in working on challenging and diverse assignments in collaborative settings across all levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Linux experience.
2. C/C++ and Python proficiency.
3. Overhead Persistent Infrared Radar, Missile Defense, Space Based Infrared Radar System experience.
4. Engineers/developers with previous work on any SMDC (Space and Missile Defense) missions Missile Warning, OPIR
5. Object Oriented Programing (OOP) experience.
6. Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
7. OO design pattern and modern data structure experience
8. Configuration management software experience (i.e., Git, etc.)
9. Software development and troubleshooting in a team environment.
10.Legacy software and modernization effort experience
11. Java and shell scripting language experience
12. Agile development experience
13. Atlassian Tool Suite experience
14. Technical leadership experience
15. Full software development lifecycle experience
