Senior Software Engineer
Location: Longmont, CO

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in supporting the NextGen Overhead Persistent Infrared Radar System. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to developing standardized software applications intended to enhance ground radar sensor capabilities and data streams into the larger C2BMC platform.
REQUIREMENTS
1. The software engineer will apply scientific, engineering or business objects by writing, modifying, or adapting computer programs in machine level, assembly and third or fourth generation programming languages. Employ object-oriented design principles and paradigms as part of an agile team, using Atlassian tools as part of the Scrum process.
2. Uses standard or conventional approaches, methods, and techniques to define, plan, organize, design, develop, modify, test, and integrate database or data processing systems, computer hardware systems and simulation models.
3. Provides support in formulating architectural design, functional specifications, interfaces and documentation of hardware or software systems.
4. Responsible for segments or phases of broader, more complex projects.
5. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software within the NextGen OPIR Ground Solution. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities
2. Design, develop, document, test, and debug software within the NextGen OPIR Ground Solution
3. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
4. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
5. Ensure software standards are met.
6. Monitoring and correcting system performance issues, applying network configurations and creating network design.
7. Software Engineer will be experienced in DevSecOps/CI/CD pipeline, C++, Qt framework (GUI), pub/sub messaging, PostgreSQL, Linux environments, Ansible Scripting, GIT/Jenkins (preferable), Agile Methodologies and the full software development cycle. Knowledge and/or experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, machine learning and multi-threaded applications is a plus.
8. Hybrid work schedule. Working 4x10 M-Th. Two days at the Fordham location in Longmont and the other 2 days can be remote/WFH.

10. Proficient in Java primarily, C++ may also be valuable.
