Full-Time Mid-Level Software Engineer

Role: Mid-Level Software Engineer Team: Carnelian Technology Location: Remote (IN-based preferred) Type: Full-time Compensation Range: $2,000-2,5000 USD + health insurance stipend + benefits

Role Overview

As a Full-Stack Developer at Carnelian, you will work across the entire technology stack, from backend services (FastAPI, Django) to frontend applications (React/Next.js). You will help design scalable microservices, build reusable UI components, integrate headless CMS systems, and contribute to product development across multiple Carnelian projects, including AI-powered capabilities where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

Product Engineering (Frontend + Backend)

• Build and maintain modern web applications using Python (FastAPI, Django), React, and Next.js.
• Implement scalable APIs, backend logic, and database models (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Develop reusable UI components aligned with Figma designs.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend services and headless CMS platforms (e.g., Strapi).
• Ensure strong SEO performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices.

Dev Ops and Deployments

• Work with Docker-based environments and contribute to CI/CD processes.
• Assist with cloud deployments (AWS) and platform optimization.
• Support data-processing pipelines and modular microservices.
• (Nice to have) Contribute to AI-assisted workflows using OpenAI, Llama, LangChain, or similar tools.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ recent years full-stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Django).
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React and Next.js
• Familiarity with RESTful API design, microservices, and modern backend architectures.
• Strong understanding of databases, schema design, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud services (AWS, Vercel, etc.) and Git workflows.
• Experience implementing tests across backend and frontend systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Headless CMS platforms (Strapi).
• Experience with Generative AI frameworks and model integrations.
• Familiarity with financial software (bonus but not required).

Soft Skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong communication and documentation habits.
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership.
• Comfortable collaborating with technical and non-technical team members.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and skill development.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).

Compensation

This role offers a monthly salary between $1,800 and $2,500 USD, depending on experience, technical depth, and overall fit.
