The Clinical Workflow Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining optimized clinical workflows that support efficient, high-quality radiological care. The role involves close collaboration with radiologists, PACS administrators, IT personnel, and clinical staff to streamline operations and enhance data integrity across imaging systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Workflow Optimization:
Design, implement, and continuously improve clinical workflows to maximize efficiency for radiologists and technologists.

·         Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work with IT and PACS teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of radiology applications and systems.

·         Data Integrity Oversight:
Conduct regular audits to ensure clinical data is accurately displayed and transferred across all systems (RIS, PACS, EMR, etc.).

·         System Preferences Configuration:
Set and maintain optimal user preferences for radiologists and clinical users, tailored to workflow needs and specialty requirements.

·         Technical Documentation:
Develop and maintain detailed workflow documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

·         User Training
Train users on features and functionality within clinical applications that allow maximum efficiency

·         Issue Resolution:
Troubleshoot and resolve workflow-related issues in collaboration with support teams and vendors.

Qualifications:

Required:

·         Strong understanding of clinical workflows in a radiology environment

·         Proficiency in creating workflow diagrams and documentation (e.g., using Lucidchart, Visio, or equivalent)

·         Ability to communicate effectively across technical and clinical stakeholders

·         Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy

Preferred:

·         Experience with PACS, RIS, EMR, and speech recognition systems

·         Familiarity with DICOM and HL7 protocols, or willingness to learn

·         Prior experience in radiology or clinical informatics roles

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during on-site trainings and system implementations.

·         Must be able to lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., laptops, training kits, demo devices).

·         Frequent use of computer and telephone equipment; must have good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

·         Ability to travel frequently, which may include driving or air travel, and moving between clinical sites or hospital departments.

·         Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach occasionally when handling hardware installations or device adjustments.

·         Visual acuity and ability to read screens, documents, and small print for prolonged periods
