Position Summary: The Multiple Dwelling Unit Technician (MDU) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems and infrastructure within multi-unit residential buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Will install and configure high speed internet services in individual units and common areas of multiple dwelling units.

·         Perform system upgrades and reconfigurations as needed to support evolving building infrastructure.

·         Respond to service calls and troubleshooting issues related to connectivity, signal strength , or equipment malfunction.

·         Will perform routine inspections

·         Will maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used and system configurations.

·         Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and company policies.

·         Assist with pre construction walk throughs and design planning fir new installations or retrofits.

·         Identify and document hazards or structural issues during installation or maintenance.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

·         High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma or technical education training.

·         Prior experience in telecommunications preferably in a similar role.

·         Strong technical knowledge in the telecommunications industry.

·         Expert problem solving abilities.

·         Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, building managers, and sub-contractors.

·         Must have the flexibility to work in diverse environments and adapt to changing technologies.

·         Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends based on project and business need.

·         Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.   

Environmental and Physical Demands: 

This position will be exposed to outdoor elements to include but not limited to extreme heat and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, sleet, wind, uneven terrain, road noise and traffic.  Will routinely work around heavy equipment and tools with moving mechanical parts. This position requires lifting materials in excess of 50lbs.
