As the Director, Business Development you will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with potential new customers within the assigned territory and work with existing clients to create selling opportunities leading to successful contracts to meet sales targets to support achievement of Catalyst’s financial targets.
Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the development and management of business relationships with assigned Catalyst accounts and/or territories.
- Identifies and qualifies business opportunities related to potential projects requiring clinical research services for Resourcing, FSP and CRO service.
- Facilitate the migration of Prospects to Clients via:
- Cold call as appropriate within assigned market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network utilizing a variety of tools including current colleagues, LinkedIn, Catalyst’s CRM and client lists, industry conferences, etc.
- Set up meetings between client decision makers and Catalyst’s leadership and together plan approach and talking points.
- Provide potential clients with background and capabilities on Catalyst both in written documents and orally via internet communications or face-to-face meetings.
- Schedule periodic calls/check-ins with potential and existing clients.
- Serve as the primary client contact for new business opportunities.
- Communicate and coordinate new business opportunities with internal Catalyst team.
- Track new client and contact information and existing client communications in Catalyst’s CRM.
- In collaboration with Proposal Managers, driver for RFP process from initial meeting to deliverable to client and maintain client contact for all RFPs and manage revisions through to award or closure.
- Participate in contracts process to assure accuracy once project is awarded.
- Facilitate the transition from RFP to project implementation for the internal Catalyst team.
- Maintain contact with client throughout the life of awarded project.
- Be responsive to the customer’s needs and follow through on all aspects of request, both written and verbal.
- Work closely with other members of the Catalyst management team to develop a brand awareness of full Catalyst’s array of clinical development services, distribute promotional materials (e.g., print material, website information, sell sheets), make client presentations, and manage corporate meeting and exhibitions.
- Participate in the collection of Key Performance Indicators and metrics.
- Gather and report information on industry trends and competitive intelligence.
Position Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advance and/or health care related degree preferred; M.S., B.S.N, R.Ph, Pharm D., preferred).
Experience:
Clear understanding of the clinical development process and related services. 5+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical drug development and/or medical device business development required
