Job Purpose
The Senior Tax Manager, reporting to the Tax Director, oversees CBTS’s income and indirect tax functions, including compliance, accounting, planning, audits, and transfer pricing—both domestically and internationally. The role also mentors staff and develops process improvements through efficient, data-driven methods.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and review the Income Tax Manager's work in these areas.
- 3rd party preparation of Federal/US State compliance
- Monthly/quarterly/annual provisions for US and Canada
- All federal/state/international estimated payments
- 3rd party preparation of Int’l provision, stat audits and returns
- Supervise, support, and review the work of the Indirect Tax Manager in the following areas:
- 3rd party preparation of Sales/Use and Regulatory returns
- 3rd party preparation of Property Tax returns
- International VAT/GST/HST returns
- Business Licenses and other in-house returns
- Lead process improvements to optimize tax positions and efficiency using AI and automation technologies
- Collaborate with the finance and legal teams to align tax planning and business goals
- Research, analyze, and document complex tax issues, transactions, and positions including M&A
- Lead and maintain transfer pricing policies and ensure proper documentation.
- Manage U.S. federal and state income tax audits, provide oversight for international audits, and indirect tax audits
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations, evaluating potential impacts on the business by leading tax planning initiatives
- Develop and mentor tax staff, providing guidance and feedback.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing).
- Master’s Degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax.
- Strong mix of corporate direct and indirect tax laws and principles.
- Extensive experience managing corporate and partnership income tax returns and tax provisions (ASC 740).
- International tax experience preferred.
- Experience in tax planning, efficiency, and technology.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will oversee both Income and Indirect Tax Managers.

The pay range for this role is:
140,000 - 160,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
