NETWORK AND FIREWALL ENGINEER – Strategic Programs – OT Networks


The CBTS Enterprise Network Solutions Organization is seeking a professional seasoned firewall and network engineer to create network and firewall designs for customer OT environments, implement new technology and infrastructure, and provide ongoing operational support for large global network environment. Specifically, the role will complete discovery of customer requirements, develop and implement network and security designs, implement and maintain firewall policy, and provide operations support.


Essential Functions


40% - Design, document network and firewall solutions.

40% - Perform detailed discovery, low level designs and implement network/security infrastructure

10% - Document Design/Implementation proposals for peer and security.

10% - Work with project managers for tasks related to project activities.


Education

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering Discipline

Vocation School Completion in Network/Security/Computer Technology


Experience/Background

5+ Years of enterprise network security


Accreditation/Certifications

Cisco Certifications– Highly Desired

Checkpoint & Palo Alto Certifications a huge plus

Linux experience is a plus


Previous Job Experience

  • Complete understanding of local lan routing and integrating site specific subnets into a global network environment.
  • Building a firewall policy from general business requirements in an interactive Q&A process.
  • Fully understand how to log and lock a firewall policy
  • Understanding an Enterprise change control process as well as ITIL Methodology
  • Experience using network analysis, management and performance monitoring tools to plan for growth, diagnose problems and determining traffic patterns.
  • Previous experience planning implementations, building comprehensive test plans, troubleshooting methodology, and Cisco design framework.
  • Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Initiative and Willingness to learn are keys to success in this position.
  • Previous Manufacturing environment that provided connectivity to machine tools, PLC’s, and other industrial control systems.
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP v4
  • Expert knowledge of the configuration and maintenance of L3 Switched Lans.
  • Expert knowledge of statefully inspecting firewalls
  • Special consideration given to the ability to script and use automation to perform tasks
