Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and automation. This role involves working closely with development, security, and network teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • System Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and security hardening.
  • Performance & Monitoring:
    • Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
    • Implement proactive measures to ensure uptime and reliability.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ansible.
    • Streamline deployment and configuration processes.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Apply best practices for system security and compliance.
    • Manage firewalls, SELinux, and access controls.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Provide Tier-3 support for escalated incidents.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery:
    • Implement and manage backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Coordinate with network and storage teams for infrastructure improvements.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in Linux system administration.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of Linux OS (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
    • Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
    • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
    • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Security: Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Certifications (Preferred): RHCE, LFCS, or similar.


Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Knowledge of database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
