Job Summary:

The Senior Windows Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows-based systems within the organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and system administration, as well as experience with cloud technologies and virtualization. The Senior Engineer will also serve as a technical lead for troubleshooting complex system issues and ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of Windows systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other Windows infrastructure services.
  • Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server performance and resolve critical system issues.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security protocols, including implementing security patches and monitoring vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Provide technical leadership for system automation and scripting (PowerShell) to streamline tasks and improve system efficiency.
  • Manage cloud services, including Azure or AWS, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide training on Windows systems and best practices.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in managing and supporting Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Windows scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) in a Windows environment.
  • Experience in managing backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) or relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration projects.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
