Role Overview:

The Sr. Electrical Commissioning Specialist provides technical and project leadership to plan, schedule, and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities. This role supports MEP design reviews and leads functional testing of complex electrical systems.


They collaborate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and client teams to test, validate, and operationalize new and existing electrical systems in mission-critical environments. The professional works independently, leads project teams on complex initiatives, coordinates cross-functional activities, and contributes to policy and procedure development.

This role operates in alignment with organizational goals, values, and departmental objectives.

Essential Functions:

Manage Commissioning Projects (50%)

  • Develop project proposals, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lead and manage multiple project teams to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Identify risks and support development of mitigation strategies to control costs and schedule deviations.
  • Manage project scope to meet contractual and budget requirements.

Manage Stakeholder Relations (20%) 

  • Ensure projects align with company policies, standards, and client value expectations.
  • Serve as primary client contact and, when applicable, act as Client Program Manager with business development responsibilities.
  • Support research for technical papers and industry presentations..

Organizational Development and Continuous Improvement of Policies and Procedures (20%)

  • Mentor team members and support training, development, and standards creation.
  • Contribute to organizational planning and may assist with hiring efforts.

Manage On-site High Profile or Escalated Commissioning Projects (10%)

  • Perform inspections, validation, testing, and verification of systems and methods.
  • Oversee functional testing of equipment and electrical systems.
  • Ensure all tasks and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Completion of assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline or two years’ experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of electrical infrastructure. 
  • Minimum thirteen years’ additional experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of electrical infrastructure 
  • Strong knowledge of electrical system principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with excellent organizational and document management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately.
  • Strong analytical skills to prepare reports, evaluate complex problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Effective communicator—able to convey technical and non-technical information and serve as a primary client contact.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working across interdepartmental and multi-role teams.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and delegate work to others.
  • Ability to follow safety requirements and obtain NFPA70E/OSHA certifications as needed.
  • Able to work effectively in a remote environment with strong communication, organization, and self-management skills.
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to optimize workflows and support innovation.

Physical Demands:

This role requires frequent handling of small parts and tools, periods of stationary work, and movement through office, critical facility, and outdoor environments—including confined spaces and varying temperatures. The employee will regularly climb stairs and ladders and may occasionally need to position themselves under or over equipment or move items up to 50 pounds.

Travel/Relocation Requirements:

  • Up to 75% travel and this may include travel to any or all 50 US states.
  • Must be located near a major airport. 
  • Effective May 7, 2025, and in accordance with U.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) is required for travel associated with this position.
  • Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the business need.
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
  • Potential relocation opportunities may exist per project needs.
  • International travel may be required based on individual skill, training and project needs.

The pay range for this role is:

133,000 - 173,000 USD per year (Remote)
