About the role


This position is for a Systems Engineer in Broomfield, CO. You will be working closely with a talented team to assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical defense systems through classic and modern Systems Engineering techniques. 


This role will focus on design, development, and integration of the new Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Command and Control (C2) program. Responsibilities will include standard end-to-end Systems Engineering (SE) activities, including requirements decomposition, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and interface control document (ICD) development. 


In this role, our Systems Engineers will also work within the organization to improve outcomes and overall value delivery. This person should have training and experience in Systems Engineering practices to support the mission design work, process definition, and baseline management. We consider experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) missions to be significant bonuses for this role.


Your primary work location will be Broomfield, with occasional travel to Bulder. This role is primarily an on-site role with 3-4 days/week in the office, and requires, at a minimum, a current US Government Secret clearance, with a TS with SCI eligibility preferred.


What you'll do

  • Contribute to all phases of a system lifecycle including: CONOPS, requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, test, operations, and maintenance
  • Maintain and develop system artifacts, including requirements, architecture designs, ICDs, use cases, system flow diagrams, and test plans
  • Conduct and/or support Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Work across cross-functional development teams, government teams, and/or vendors to drive problem resolution and collaboration
  • Interface with the customer, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen with current a current DoD clearance 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Systems Engineering, with at least eight (8) preferred
  • Ability to build a high-level systems design, as well as pull together a detailed systems design
  • Experience with multiple stages of the program lifecycle (design, integration, test, operations, maintenance)
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with DOORs and Visio software applications
  • Experience with technical risk identification and management strategies, as well as Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Ability to communicate technical information via oral presentation and written format

Preferred/Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) operations
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with the Command and Control Message Specification (c2ms)
  • Experience working within an agile workflow
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Current TS, with SCI eligibility

Expected Salary Range


Depending on experience and skillset, most candidates will earn between $125,000 and $190,000 per year.

We combine these factors with market and business considerations to extend a job offer.
