About the role
The Cybersecurity Engineer we hire for this role will work to identify and mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities for a ground system for a new United States Space Force (USSF) satellite constellation. This person will work with the program's engineering team to architect, develop and sell-off products to a government customer. Work will include configuration development, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and testing, and delivery of a secure environment for Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission operations. Ideally, this candidate has experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF). We consider experience with OPIR missions to be a significant bonus for this role.
What you'll do
Key responsibilities for the Cybersecurity Engineer include:
Must hold DoD Secret Clearance, at minimum
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in CyberSecurity Engineering
Experience with cyber tools, including ACAS and HBSS
Strong understanding of Cybersecurity frameworks and standards
Experience running DISA SCAP Scan and working with DISA STIGs for operating systems, network devices, and other infrastructure related services (LDAP, AD, ESXi, Virtual Machines)
Ability to work with system and security SMEs to harden and mitigate identified cyber vulnerabilities
Experience with incident response and management
Ability to communicate technical information via oral presentation and written format
Willingness to work on site 4-5 days per week
Strong focus on internal and external customer success
Possess CompTIA Security+ and CISSP or similar certifications
Cybersecurity engineering experience with embedded systems development for DoD
Understanding of networking fundamentals, programming languages, and operating systems
Familiar with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Understanding of ethical hacking and penetration
Experience working within an agile workflow
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Experience with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR)
In addition to job-specific requirements, Centil believes it is important for all employees to possess the following skills/characteristics:
Depending on experience and skillset, most candidates will earn between $125,000 and $180,000 per year.
