About the role

This position is for a Mid-to-Senior Level Systems Engineer in Boulder, CO. You will be working with a variety of different engineering and managerial departments to assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical defense systems through classic and modern Systems Engineering techniques.  Additionally, you will be tasked with improving the overall project management discipline of our clients by collaborating with the product teams across a variety of disciplines to ensure that program goals, expectations, and requirements are executed at each organizational level.

This role will focus on design, development, and integration of the ground system for a new United States Space Force (USSF) program.  Responsibilities will include standard end-to-end Systems Engineering (SE) activities, including requirements definition, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, interface control document (ICD) generation, and diagram creation and modification. In this role, our Systems Engineers will also work within the organization to improve outcomes and overall value delivery.  This person should have training and experience in Systems Engineering practices to support the mission design work, process definition, and baseline management.  We consider experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) missions to be significant bonuses for this role.

What you'll do

• Contribute to all phases of a system lifecycle including: CONOPS, requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, test, operations, and maintenance
• Maintain and develop system artifacts, including requirements, architecture designs, ICDs, use cases, system flow diagrams, and test plans
• Conduct and/or support Technical Interchange Meetings and formal reviews
• Assist cross-functional development teams, government teams, and/or vendors to drive problem resolution and collaboration
• Support additional activities, such as special studies or Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) tracking
• Interface with the customer, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Required Qualifications

• US Citizen with current a current DoD clearance or the ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education)
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Systems Engineering, with at least eight (8) preferred
• Ability to build a high-level systems design, as well as pull together a detailed systems design 
• Experience with multiple stages of the program lifecycle (design, integration, test, operations, maintenance)
• Demonstrated IT and systems thinking abilities, working with an Infrastructure team
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Experience with technical risk identification and management strategies, as well as Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
• Ability to communicate technical information via oral presentation and written format

Expected Salary Range

Depending on experience and skillset, most candidates will earn between $125,000 and $200,000 per year.
