In-House General Counsel & Advertising Attorney (Remote) 


The CEO Lawyer Law Firm is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Employment Law and Advertising Compliance Counsel to join our legal team. This hybrid role will serve as the firm’s in-house counsel on employment practices, contract matters, and also contribute to revenue generation through the strategic handling of external employment law cases. This is a new business line requiring a process oriented mindset, with the tenacity to generate a case pipeline supported by the firms marketing efforts 

Our marketing efforts are a big part of what makes us stand out, but they also come with strict rules and regulations. We need someone who can make sure our advertising stays creative while staying fully compliant with state laws.  

At the same time, employment law is a necessity as we are rapidly growing and wanting to grow our business in multiple directions.  

This role combines both responsibilities because they’re equally critical to our success. By bringing on an attorney who understands both Advertising Law and Employment Law, we can continue our rapid growth.

Location: Fully Remote (with occasional travel for key meetings or court appearances) 
Compensation: $100,000-$150,000 base + performance bonuses + benefits 
 

Role Overview 
The CEO Lawyer Law Firm is seeking a dynamic and results-driven In-House General Counsel with dual expertise in Employment Law and Advertising Law. This role is designed for a legal professional who can balance internal compliance and risk management with external revenue-generating legal services, while ensuring the firm’s marketing and advertising practices meet all regulatory standards. 

 This remote hybrid role combines General Counsel and Advertising Attorney responsibilities. You will: 

  1. Internal Counsel Duties – Advise leadership on compliance, risk mitigation, and HR policies; draft and negotiate internal contracts; oversee investigations; ensure multi-state employment law compliance. 
  1. External Revenue-Generating Services – Manage employment law cases from pre-litigation through litigation; draft employment-related documents for clients; represent clients in mediations, hearings, and court; contribute to firm revenue growth. 
  1. Advertising Law Compliance – Ensure all marketing and advertising campaigns comply with State Bar and Professional Responsibility Rules.   

Key Responsibilities 
Internal: 

  • Advise on employment practices and HR compliance. 
  • Draft/review vendor agreements, NDAs, and partnership contracts. 
  • Oversee internal investigations and disciplinary recommendations. 
  • Monitor multi-state employment law updates. 

External: 

  • Handle wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage/hour claims. 
  • Draft employment contracts, handbooks, severance agreements, and non-competes. 
  • Represent clients in EEOC/DOL hearings and litigation. 
  • Develop strategies to grow employment law caseload. 

Advertising Attorney Duties: 

  • Review and approve all advertising, social media, and promotional content for compliance with legal and ethical standards. 
  • Advise marketing teams on FTC, state consumer protection laws, and bar advertising rules. 
  • Draft disclaimers, terms of service, and privacy policies for campaigns. 
  • Mitigate risk related to endorsements, testimonials, and influencer partnerships. 

Qualifications 

  • Education: J.D. from accredited law school. 
  • License: Active US Attorney Bar license (required). 
  • Experience: 5+ years in employment law and contracts; litigation success preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, contract law, and advertising regulations. 
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset for client development. 

Preferred: In-house or law firm experience; familiarity with firm operations and billing.
