About TrialWatch

TrialWatch provides free legal aid to journalists who are unfairly imprisoned to secure their release and uphold freedom of speech. It is the first initiative that monitors criminal trials globally, exposing unfair trials and challenging laws that are weaponized against free speech. The initiative has freed over a 100 journalists and advocates facing sham charges and unjust prison sentences.

About Waging Justice for Women

Waging Justice for Women provides free legal aid to women and girls to defend their rights, including their right to be free from child marriage, violence and discrimination. With our partners across Africa, we provide free legal support to women and children, challenge unjust laws through the courts and support the next generation of justice champions through an annual fellowship for young women lawyers. In its first two years, the program has provided over 9,000 women and girls in Africa with advice on their legal rights and represented women for free in hundreds of cases in court.

About the Oxford Institute

The Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice (Institute) is a partnership between Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government and the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ) to harness technology, including Artificial Intelligence, for justice. Our work rests on three pillars: 1) Access to Justice, 2) Advancement of International Law, and 3) Accountability. CFJ is the implementing partner of the Institute’s Access to Justice pillar. Through partnerships with technologists, we are developing digital agents that bring legal support and resources to those who need it the most. Our pilot projects connect disadvantaged women and girls as well as journalists-at-risk to legal information in conversational format, around the clock, and to vetted pro bono lawyers who can help them defend their rights.
