We're Hiring: Storytelling & Studio Manager | Full-Time at Christ Covenant Church
Christ Covenant Church is seeking a passionate and skilled Storyteller to join our team and lead the creative development and execution of compelling video and film content. The Storyteller will be a visionary filmmaker with strong storytelling instincts, technical production skills, and a deep desire to use creative media to tell God-honoring stories that inspire, teach, and engage our church and broader online community.
This role will oversee the entire film production process—from concept to distribution—collaborating with ministry leaders and creatives to produce high-quality projects including testimonies, documentaries, promotional videos, sermon clips, and social media content.
Key Responsibilities
Filmmaking & Pre-Production
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to brainstorm and develop creative video concepts
- Independently pitch, refine, and solidify project visions and budgets
- Source and manage crews, equipment rentals, and production logistics
- Conduct soft interviews and develop multi-iteration scripts (Testimony videos)
- Research and collaborate with subject matter experts (Documentary films)
- Create detailed pre-production documentation (call sheets, lookbooks, storyboards, shot lists, etc.)
Production
- Direct and manage film shoots, including crew, talent, and equipment
- Maintain consistent creative vision and production quality
- Conduct on-camera interviews
- Oversee media management and on-set organization
Post-Production
- Source, book, and oversee editors, motion designers, and colorists
- Manage post-production schedule and workflow
- Edit or direct editing of projects from rough cut to final version
- Source archival assets, voice-over talent, music, sound effects
- Maintain alignment with Christ Covenant’s values and theological integrity
Distribution & Marketing
- Collaborate on distribution strategies with Communications and ministries
- Export and deliver projects for web, social, and live environments
- Create social media versions of content (Reels, Shorts, Thumbnails)
- Develop SEO-optimized descriptions, titles, and metadata
- Direct or create supporting graphic design elements
Live Stream & YouTube Channel Oversight
- Oversee creative quality of weekly livestreams and train volunteers
- Coordinate scheduling, camera operation, and technical execution
- Manage YouTube channel presence and content uploads
- Edit sermon clips and produce short-form social content
Additional Responsibilities
- Capture photos and B-roll footage of church events
- Support lighting design and maintenance in worship venues
- Manage storytelling equipment and supplies
- Fulfill other tasks and creative responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in filmmaking, video production, or storytelling
- Strong portfolio of narrative and/or documentary work
- Excellent video editing and post-production skills (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
- Ability to manage and lead crews, volunteers, and freelancers
- Deep understanding of visual storytelling, cinematography, and sound design
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Alignment with the theological convictions and mission of Christ Covenant Church
Preferred Skills
- Experience with church or nonprofit content creation
- Familiarity with YouTube and social video trends
- Proficiency in motion graphics and color grading workflows
- DSLR/mirrorless camera operation and lighting setups
- Photography and graphic design experience
