Overview
The Communications Coordinator supports the mission of Christ Covenant Church by creating clear, compelling, and gospel-centered content across all communication channels. This person turns ministry updates, event details, and stories into high-quality emails, web pages, printed materials, and digital content.
This individual works under the Project Manager and collaborates closely with the Communications Director, Creative Team, and ministry leaders. This is a highly detail-oriented, execution-driven role for someone who loves writing, editing, and building communication pieces that serve the church family.
Essential Job Functions
Content Creation
- Write clear, accurate, and engaging copy for emails, newsletters, website pages, print collateral, ministry guides, and other communication pieces.
- Adapt tone to fit ministry needs while staying aligned with Christ Covenant’s voice and theological clarity.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, tone, grammar, and consistency.
Digital and Print Communications
- Copywrite, build and schedule email campaigns in Mailchimp.
- Create and update landing pages, articles, and event pages on the church website using CMS tools.
- Ensure all digital content is optimized for readability, accessibility, and user experience.
- Maintain accuracy for ongoing content areas (service times, registration links, ministry pages, seasonal campaigns).
- Draft content for brochures, handouts, signage, booklets, sermon series guides, promotional materials, and other print needs.
- Work with the designer to ensure copy and layout match branding and strategic goals.
Quality and Brand Stewardship
- Uphold brand consistency in tone, style, clarity, and theological precision.
- Ensure all communications reflect Christ Covenant’s mission, voice, and values.
- Assist with internal style guides, phrasing, and communication standards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3+ years in a communications, writing, web content, or marketing role (church or nonprofit experience preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to write strong, clear copy for a variety of mediums.
