SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Custodian performs a wide range of janitorial and facility maintenance tasks and procedures on a daily basis. This position is responsible for numerous duties that include but are not limited to: cleaning walls, floors and equipment, waste disposal, and various other facilities and maintenance duties. This position will work closely with the Department Manager and maintenance personnel to ensure a clean and organized work space so that production can be optimized.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment including: Factory Floor, Offices, Restrooms
• Ability to clean all general walking surfaces using a broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, squeegees, etc.
• Ability to clean and sanitize the following surfaces: toilets, sinks, mirrors, windows, tables, chairs, railings, door handles, etc.
• Ability to take out trash from offices, productions floor, shipping area and place in outdoor hopper.
• Ability to monitor supply inventory and reorder in a timely manner.
• Follow company production and safety procedures
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and government regulations
• Assist maintenance personnel on tasks and projects as needed
• Complete all other reasonable tasks assigned by the Department Manager
• Communicate with the Department Manager as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 + years previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred
• Must be able to work well with others and have excellent communication skills
• Ability to handle a physical workload
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Eager to take on responsibility with a personal sense of accountability

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a warehouse and office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time, some walking. Employees are regularly required to talk and/or hear. Employees will be expected to repeat much of the physical motions throughout the shift that may include use of their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee must be able to carry and/or lift up to 50 lbs if needed.
