Operating out of Chadds Ford, PA with offices in San Jose, Boston, and Cambridge, UK, ClariMed is building a global, boutique professional services practice that provides human centered design, development and regulatory services to medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Job Summary: Human Factors and Business Operations Intern  
The Human Factors & Business Operations Intern will play a key role in supporting ClariMed’s usability research and design validation efforts for medical products, while also assisting in internal business operations. This onsite position is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about human-centered product development and also seeks broad exposure to corporate functions within a mission-driven consulting firm. 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Human Factors Engineering: 

  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with usability risk assessments. 
  • Draft formative and summative usability study protocols. 
  • Plan and execute usability studies including participant recruitment, equipment setup, and study moderation. 
  • Analyze usability data and video footage to identify root causes of use errors. 
  • Prepare human factors reports and regulatory documentation. 
  • Create usability engineering files and co-author Human Factors Engineering Submission Reports. 
  • Edit and support development of outreach, training, and blog materials related to human factors. 

Business Operations & Administration: 

  • Provide administrative support to leadership and operations teams. 
  • Assist with scheduling, internal communication, and document organization. 
  • Help manage office supplies, vendor coordination, and general facilities support. 
  • Support planning of internal meetings, events, and conference logistics. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Human Factors, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. MS preferred for Human Factors track. 
  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Familiarity with FDA Human Factors Guidance and IEC 62366 standards is a plus. 
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interface with cross-functional teams and clients.
