Operating out of Chadds Ford, PA with offices in San Jose, Boston, and Cambridge, UK, ClariMed is building a global, boutique professional services practice that provides human centered design, development and regulatory services to medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers. With a grounding in quality by design, creativity and risk mitigation from concept inception through pilot lot delivery, we intend to reduce time to market, enhance product quality and convey a compelling risk/benefit positioning for our clients. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you will have ownership over financial reconciliations, balance sheet and income statement as well as revenue project tracking. You will be responsible for high level of attention to detail, working closely with the operations team and creating monthly reports.
Essential Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Monthly Close Activities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain GL workpapers.
- Revenue and Project Tracking:
- Track project revenue recognition against budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
- Assist with the financial audit, including providing supporting documentation and preparing audit workpapers.
- Cross-Office Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues across offices (California, Pennsylvania, and Cambridge, UK) to ensure financial processes are consistent and aligned.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, budgets, metrics, and capital requirements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and financial regulations
- Continuously analyze financial data to provide recommendations driving profits, reducing costs, and guiding executive strategic decisions
Successful candidates possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 2+ years experience in corporate accounting roles. Experience working rapid-growth companies preferred
- Excellent technical knowledge of GAAP standards, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and modeling
- Ability to operate independently to build department and controls from ground up
- Outstanding communication skills to liaise across company and externally
- Natural business sense and acumen to guide profitable decision-making
