Why ClearStar Needs You:

ClearStar’s Medical Information Services team protects the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of our drug and alcohol screening process. The Medical Review Officer (MRO) Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring results are processed efficiently, documentation is complete, and clients receive timely, accurate reporting. This position directly supports regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and customer trust. Without strong execution in this function, turnaround time, accuracy, and service quality are impacted.

ClearStar is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused MRO Assistant to support our Medical Review Officer team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with data and documentation, and take pride in operational accuracy, this role may be a strong fit.

What You'll Do:

  • Process laboratory drug and alcohol screening results using industry software
  • Partner closely with the Medical Review Officer to prepare audits and required documentation
  • Verify prescriptions for non-negative results
  • Reopen and update completed drug screen results when needed
  • Process shy bladder cases in accordance with Federal guidelines
  • Report Federal and non-Federal drug and alcohol results to clients and appropriate authorities
  • Audit internal fax folders and maintain documentation accuracy
  • Communicate with collection sites and laboratories to obtain CCFs, ATFs, affidavits, and supporting documentation
  • Respond to incoming calls and inquiries from donors, collection sites, and internal stakeholders
  • Manually enter results when required and ensure data integrity
  • Additional duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

  • 1–2 years of experience in drug screening, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of documentation standards and compliance requirements
  • Highly proficient in data entry and order processing tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and regulatory guidelines
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free with access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day task.

Who You Are:

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Accountable and self-directed in a remote setting
  • Process-minded with strong follow-through
  • Professional in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Collaborative and responsive to internal and external stakeholders
