Why ClearStar Needs You:

ClearStar is seeking a Compliance Manager to join our Legal & Compliance team. This role plays a key part in protecting our organization and clients by maintaining compliance with federal, state, and global consumer reporting regulations, with a strong focus on the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

As a trusted leader within the team, you will oversee compliance operations including consumer disputes, credentialing, and audit readiness, while partnering closely with Legal, Product, and Security to strengthen a proactive, best-in-class compliance program. This position offers an opportunity to make a measurable impact on ClearStar’s integrity, client trust, and ongoing growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for organization’s development, implementation, and on-going compliance with all applicable sections of the FCRA, state consumer reporting laws, federal and state DPPA compliance.
  • Manage daily compliance operations including consumer dispute resolution, full file disclosures, and report requests.
  • Oversee customer credentialing processes and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Partner with Legal and Global Compliance experts to align operations with FCRA, state, and international regulations.
  • Lead compliance investigations and work with Legal and Security on privacy or regulatory incidents.
  • Review new and existing product features for regulatory alignment.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, client due diligence, and compliance certifications.
  • Monitor and communicate regulatory changes, advising internal teams on needed updates.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across compliance functions.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Mid career professional with program management experience in a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) or similarly regulated industry.
  • Advanced FCRA certification (PBSA) required.
  • Strong expertise in FCRA, dispute resolution, and consumer reporting processes.
  • Working knowledge of global data privacy laws (such as GDPR and CCPA) and their operational impact.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free with access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day task.

Who You Are:

You are a detail-oriented compliance professional with deep FCRA knowledge and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. You thrive in a collaborative environment, balancing regulatory precision with business needs. You take ownership of complex challenges, anticipate risk, and find energy in building efficient systems that strengthen trust and support both clients and consumers.

If you are ready to lead with integrity and help advance ClearStar’s compliance excellence, we would love to hear from you.
