About the Role:
You will provide timely and proactive support including:
- Detailed Due Diligence and Analysis of real estate debt opportunities.
- In this role, you will build a deep understanding of credit analysis on CMHC insured and Conventional financing transactions ranging from $2 million to over $100 million. Conduct in-depth analysis and detailed due diligence on loan applications which will facilitate credit decisions by CMLS and external Lenders, as the team acts as both a direct Lender and in an advisory capacity.
- Communicate your findings both verbally and written.
- In our business, the difference between making a deal and losing a deal often comes down to effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Be prepared to write detailed pitches and presentations, outlining the deal structure and the findings of your analysis. You will also learn the right questions to ask and to ‘pitch’ the deal verbally to both clients, internal decision-makers, and external Lenders
- Assist with satisfying pre-funding conditions required to fund real estate loans.
- To take a loan from concept to funding requires significant information gathering and dissemination. Detailed and persistent attention to driving this process forward and communicating with relevant stakeholders is a key responsibility of the Analyst.
- Meeting and building relationships with Clients, Investors, and external Lenders.
- Building relationships and trust with our stakeholders and market professionals is what drives our success. Networking, client meetings, handling internal and external communications are all going to be important in achieving success, both for you and the team.
- Other duties as assigned.

This role is for you if you:
- 2-4 years of industry experience in real estate financing
- You have a strong understanding of financial statement analysis and have a passion for real estate.
- Are a critical thinker and solutions driven
- You have completed an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: finance, economics, urban land development, accounting, appraisal or business administration.
- You are an intermediate to advanced level user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Financial accreditations including CPA, CFA, considered an asset
- Masters Degree including MBA considered an asset
- Argus proficiency considered an asset
- You possess strong organizational skills with a very high attention to detail and accuracy.
- You take ownership of your work and always demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment.
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Being bilingual in English and French is considered an asset.
- You are a motivated self-starter who is very results driven.
- You have a sense of urgency, and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
- You possess an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to provide flexible solutions to our clients.
