The Hydraulics Manager provides overall management of the Hydraulics Shop, ensuring effective execution of all hydraulics maintenance and/or manufacturing activities. The role is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, cost-efficient work while fostering employee development, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting company objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provides day-to-day leadership and management that fosters a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops employee skills through on-the-job training; identifies training needs and coordinates with the Training Department.
- Ensures production requirements are met while maintaining focus on customer service, quality, safety, and attention to detail.
- Reviews work orders to ensure accuracy of documentation, time accounting, and materials usage; ensures all work is performed in accordance with approved data and procedures.
- Collaborates with department directors, program managers, and production control to determine internal and external work requirements, establish short- and long-term schedules, and set production priorities.
- Develops the annual operational budget, determines staffing requirements, and identifies capital expenditure needs. Manages shop operations to meet established financial goals.
- Applies Lean tools and problem-solving methods to identify and eliminate waste, improve quality and safety, decrease lead time, and reduce costs.
- Ensures all shop tools and equipment are maintained, operable, and properly accounted for; maintains clean, orderly, and FOD-free work areas.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and performance management of shop employees; enforces company policies and regulatory compliance standards.
- Provides regular performance and status updates to the Executive Leadership Team, highlighting achievements, risks, and improvement initiatives.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or advance instruction relative to technical field is desirable.
- Must be familiar with the products and processes associated with aircraft and manufacturing.
- Minimum 8 years’ of hydraulic maintenance experience.
- Systems experience and understanding of the Columbia 107, Columbia 234 and like military aircraft is preferred
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred; Certification per FAR Part 65 required; Must have the ability to obtain maintenance release and inspection authorizations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and coach employees.
- Has a thorough understanding of repair station procedures, quality management system procedures (MRO and manufacturing) associated federal aviation regulations and other national aviation regulations as required.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as assigned dependent on production needs
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Training and experience utilizing Lean methods in a production environment preferred
- Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as a U.S. Person
