Childcare Division Manager

Position Summary

The Childcare Sales Manager owns the Books Are Fun childcare division end to end. This is a builder role in a division that is growing fast, has a proven program, and has real runway ahead of it.

Book Blast is a literacy program that gets kids excited about books and reading. The childcare division brings that same program to childcare centers and early childhood settings. It operates differently than the schoolwide business. The buyer is different, the program cadence is different, and the sales motion requires dedicated ownership to reach its potential.

The Childcare Sales Manager leads a team of Childcare Specialists who own the full client lifecycle: from presentations through program fulfillment and into renewals. This role is responsible for developing those specialists, partnering with a dedicated BDR team on prospecting and meeting generation, and building the processes and standards that turn a strong division into a scalable one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Childcare Specialists who manage new business acquisition, program fulfillment, and renewals for their accounts.
  • Partner with the BDR team to ensure consistent meeting generation, presentation quality, and territory coverage.
  • Own division performance including specialist productivity, conversion rates, renewal rates, and event volume targets.
  • Build and refine the operational processes that allow Childcare Specialists to manage the full client lifecycle effectively.
  • Partner with the CSM team to understand the Book Blast fulfillment process and adapt best practices for the childcare context.
  • Become the internal expert on the childcare program, including how it differs from the schoolwide model and how to evolve it based on field experience.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop childcare-specific awareness and demand generation.
  • Provide accurate forecasting, performance reporting, and strategic recommendations to the CRO.

Duties

  • Manage weekly team rhythms including standups, pipeline reviews, and one-on-ones.
  • Audit presentation and fulfillment quality across the specialist team and identify coaching opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation standards and hold the team accountable to pipeline discipline.
  • Track territory coverage, identify gaps, and deploy specialist resources intentionally.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and the broader Sales organization on shared priorities.
  • Perform other related duties as required to grow and professionalize the childcare division.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in sales leadership with experience managing teams that own a full sales and account lifecycle.
  • Comfortable developing people across multiple skill sets: prospecting, presenting, fulfilling, and renewing.
  • Strong coaching instincts and the ability to give direct, actionable feedback.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a growing team.
  • Experience in education, childcare, or mission-driven environments a plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and a disciplined approach to pipeline management.
  • Genuine passion for early childhood literacy and the mission of Books Are Fun.
  • Must be a genuine book lover.
