The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting new and existing ISP/MSP business customers. You will work on supporting business data circuits, SDWAN Networks, VoIP services, VPNs, Managed Routers, Firewalls, and you will learn, design and deliver various custom-managed services. This is a Contractor position offering 100% remote work flexibility.
No travel to customer locations is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with customers to resolve any service problems: SDWAN, Internet,
- Understanding of basic LAN configurations (Routers / Firewalls) and Microsoft operation systems
- Handling new customer-managed service provisioning support functions Interfacing with vendors to resolve support issues
- Owning support issues from start to finish
- Keeping customers happy with superior support and a level head--going the extra mile
- Train and assist other engineers with complex issues
What you'll need for success:
- 3-5 years of related experience working in a fast-paced environment
- CCNA and CCNP certification is desirable
- Command line experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper
- Firewall configuration experience (e.g. Fortinet)
- Understanding and experience with BGP, OSPF, and VRRP
- Experience with basic routers/firewalls and NAT (Network Address Translation)
- Experience with COS/QOS
- Experience with designing networks
- SOC2 knowledge and understanding
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task assignments and follow process flow are required
- Must have excellent communication and analytical skills to understand and resolve customer issues effectively. This would include being comfortable talking with Clients.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
