About your new role:

As a Managed Services Engineer specializing in Palo Alto SD-WAN and security, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering enterprise-grade connectivity and protection for our customers. You’ll design, configure, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN and firewall solutions while ensuring the resilience of critical services such as Internet, UCaaS, LTE, and VPNs.

This role requires advanced knowledge of Palo Alto platforms, strong networking fundamentals (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, QoS), and the ability to integrate security into WAN architecture. While Palo Alto will be your primary focus, you will also work with Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Versa Networks, Cato Networks, Cisco Meraki, and Metaswitch UCaaS/voice platforms as part of Command|Link’s global managed services portfolio.

No travel to customer locations is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end support with a focus on Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN and Next-Generation Firewalls.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced routing and security policies including BGP, OSPF, VRRP, QoS, and IPS/IDS.
  • Provision and onboard new customers into Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN environments, ensuring seamless integration and migration.
  • Manage and troubleshoot multi-vendor environments spanning WAN, LAN, firewalls, VPNs, LTE circuits, VoIP, and Metaswitch UCaaS/voice services.
  • Optimize LTE failover, redundancy, and hybrid WAN configurations.
  • Collaborate directly with Palo Alto Networks and other vendors for escalations and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Monitor customer environments, analyze logs, and proactively mitigate threats or performance issues.
  • Mentor peers on Palo Alto best practices, including security posture alignment and SD-WAN policies.
  • Document architectures, security policies, and operational playbooks for team use.

What you'll need for success:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Bachelor’s in IT/Networking preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in networking and security, ideally within an MSP/ISP environment.
  • Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN and NGFW platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRRP), NAT, and VPN technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring Palo Alto security features including App-ID, User-ID, SSL decryption, IPS/IDS, and GlobalProtect.
  • Experience with multi-vendor CLI environments (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Versa, Meraki).
  • Practical experience with VoIP, SIP, LTE failover, and Metaswitch UCaaS solutions.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance, ITSM processes, and change management.
  • Certifications such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer) or CCNP Security are highly desirable.
