Crash Course Producer

Producers are responsible for crafting and executing the creative vision on a Crash Course project after it has been developed and greenlit. They are responsible for generating a unique look and feel that aligns with the Crash Course brand with approval and consultation from the Senior Producer.  The Producer leads a team that may include employees, contractors, or a mix of both. This requires strong communication skills, the ability to keep people on schedule with competing deadlines, and leadership skills. They should also be adept at troubleshooting problems related to personnel and talent management, workflow issues, and common production-related obstacles as they arise. 

Producers also collaborate with the editorial team on projects.  This includes working closely with the editorial team to review and suggest adjustments on scripts for visual interest/clarity/and Crash Course’s  style. 

They may also be tasked with the execution of new project initiatives as directed by Complexly leadership.

Pay: $59,500-$63,000

What you'll do: 
  • Hire, train, and mentor staff to uphold Complexly standards. 
  • Manages budget line items assigned by their supervisor.
  • Approves content before it goes live. 
  • Monitors episodes after posting and responds to problems if they occur. 
  • Reviews and interprets analytical data to track viewership trends.
  • Ensures compliance with Complexly’s rights and licenses on assigned projects. 
  • Supervises external communications for projects in collaboration with the Communications Coordinator and their supervisor, including but not limited to social media, promotion, and marketing. 
  • Implements channel monetization through ads, paid sponsorships that reflect the brand, merchandise, and other avenues as directed by their supervisor 
  • Other duties as assigned

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • 5 years previous production experience, including at least 1 year as a full producer required
  • Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite preferred 
  • Working knowledge of rights clearances and copyright required
  • Previous experience with Air Table is a plus 
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
