Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics is seeking a Prosthetic Technician to fabricate, modify, and repair custom prosthetic devices at our Willowbrook fabrication lab. You will work with experienced technicians and clinicians to turn technical specifications into devices that support patient mobility, comfort, and independence.

This position combines hands-on craftsmanship, mechanical problem-solving, and work that directly supports patient care. Prior prosthetic fabrication experience is preferred. Candidates with transferable skills in fabrication, composites, machining, or other technical trades are also encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Fabricate and repair prosthetic devices according to work orders, clinician specifications, and established lab procedures.
• Prepare, pour, and modify plaster molds and positive models according to fabrication instructions.
• Form, trim, and finish thermoplastic diagnostic sockets and assist with definitive socket fabrication.
• Perform lamination and finishing processes using resins, reinforcing materials, and composites appropriate to the device.
• Assemble prosthetic components and complete technical adjustments within your training and assigned responsibilities.
• Use fabrication machinery, hand tools, and specialized lab equipment safely and accurately.
• Inspect devices for workmanship, structural integrity, finish, and conformity with work orders and manufacturer specifications.
• Communicate fabrication questions, material concerns, and production issues to technicians, clinicians, and lab leadership.
• Document completed work and coordinate with the team to meet production deadlines.
• Maintain an organized workspace and follow equipment maintenance, safety, infection control, and company procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work accurately with hand tools and technical equipment.
• Ability to read measurements and follow written fabrication instructions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, accept feedback, and learn specialized fabrication processes.
• Reliable attendance, effective communication, and the ability to manage assigned tasks within a team.
• Availability to work on-site in Willowbrook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience fabricating, modifying, or repairing prosthetic devices.
• Familiarity with socket fabrication, plaster model preparation, thermoplastic forming, laminations, or prosthetic component assembly.
• Relevant experience in composites, manufacturing, machining, dental laboratory work, or another hands-on technical field.
• Technical or trade coursework related to fabrication, materials, manufacturing, or engineering.

Compensation & Schedule

Base Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
7:30 AM–3:30 PM
