About the role

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team and drive insights from various sources of data, including both insurance claims data, social determinants of health (SDoH), and clinical data.

What you'll do

  • Utilize advanced data science techniques to analyze and derive insights from combining large-scale healthcare insurance claims datasets with other available data sets.
  • Develop predictive models and algorithms to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving patient outcomes through a deeper understanding of a patient's clinical profile and precision-match to specialist performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that address business challenges and support strategic initiatives.
  • Leverage Python, dbt (Data Build Tool), DuckDB, and Snowflake to build scalable and maintainable data pipelines, transformations, and models.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and visualization to uncover actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare analytics and data science.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, with a focus on healthcare insurance claims data analysis and modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language for data manipulation, analysis, and machine learning.
  • Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) for building and managing data pipelines and transformations.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehousing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data domains, including claims data structures, ACO initiatives, and CMS datasets. (eg. CCLF files)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights and data-driven solutions.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques, such as regression analysis, time series analysis, and hypothesis testing.
  • Knowledge of machine learning (ML) techniques and its application to healthcare data.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations, such as HIPAA and HITECH.
