These comprise of Valuation services, Post Close Audit support, Fulfilment support, Default support, Investor Claims and consulting & advisory services. Most importantly, the Due Diligence Division of CA Inc offers third party rating services (FITCH, S&P GLOBAL, KROLL, MORNINGSTAR, AND DRBS) through its unique underwriting solutions to customers in the Capital Markets space. The underwriting solution is also extended to both originations and default operations to some of the clients. This is a competitive space that CA has positioned itself as a formidable player in. To stay competitive and ahead of the game, CA constantly endeavours to reengineer its UW processes and the supporting tech to stay agile, relevant and most sought after by its clients. The Due diligence business is won by nimble players who can turn around files faster and in an accurate fashion. Bids are won on who has the largest capacity, quicker throughputs and scalable options. CA is seeking an Assistant Manager- Underwriting Operations who can develop strategies, re-engineer process workflows, adopt cutting-edge technologies faster, build capacity and churn deliverables in a timely manner.
Current Operation Model:
The current model of operations follows a seamless integrated model comprising of onshore and offshore team members. The offshore unit predominantly assists in performing bookmarking and data extraction activities on a loan file. The Data extraction is performed across Credit, Income and Compliance sections of the loan file. The bookmarking ensures bookmarking consistency across the labelling of each document, chronologically arranging similar documents, removal of duplicate documents, re-arranging misplaced documents and nesting bookmarks under a header bookmark. Currently both bookmarking and data extraction are performed using a third-party AI driven software. From the Offshore side, the Underwriters collect data and review on the following areas: Credit (Income Calculation) and Compliance.
Description of the Role As part of the responsibility, the AM- Underwriting Operations, is required to conceive, design, develop and roll out strategies that can result in the following outcomes:
1. Process Transformation in the Offshore Underwriting Operations
2. Daily Throughput Management
3. Staffing Optimization & Productivity Enhancement
4. Knowledge Transfer & Process Stabilization
5. Client Services & Engagement Key Performance Indices As part of the performance management, the SOC will be assessed on the following KPIs. Assistant Manager- Underwriting Operations Responsibilities:
1. Support in screening, interviewing and hiring new underwriters
2. To provide effective strategies for building and growing the DIS Underwriting Operations. The goal is to build a strong team of 100 offshore underwriters.
3. Oversee progress of classroom and on job training.
4. Oversee Production ramp up to meet the required level.
5. Monitor quality level and give directions to progress on quality level.
6. Work with Presales manager to pitch for new business.
7. Provide the necessary day-to-day business report (MIS, Executive Summary Report, Business Insights)
8. Manage the SLA and delivery obligations made with the client.
9. Other activities that are mutually agreed over email or as an amendment to this agreement,
as the project progresses.
Qualifications:
1. Should possess a minimum of 12 years of experience in US real estate underwriting operations
2. Should possess a master’s degree in any field that complements the operations management (MBA, or any other master’s program)
3. Should have managed US Clients in the Real Estate Underwriting space (Collateral, Character, Capacity, Credit)
4. Should have worked in large MNC Service Providers like Accenture, Cognizant, First Source, TCS, etc. or Captive Center like Wells Fargo, Mr. Cooper, Goldman Sachs or third-party service providers like Visionet, Altisource, Digital Risk, etc,
5. Should be open to supporting the US Time zone
6. Should be open to travel to US on a periodic basis and hence should have a B1/B2 business visa
