About the Role


As Product Lead, Patterns & Platform, you’ll play a key role in shaping how real-world AI solutions are built and scaled on the Contextual platform. More than just automating back-office tasks—this is about enabling intelligent, adaptive solutions that power everything from internal business workflows to external, customer-facing experiences. You’ll focus on two core areas: defining reusable patterns that solve meaningful business problems for our customers, and ensuring the platform includes the right capabilities and tools to make those solutions easy to deliver by our own teams and, over time, by partners.


Working closely with Contextual’s Solution Delivery teams, you’ll identify common needs and proven approaches across client engagements—turning those insights into productized patterns like solution templates, experience frameworks, standards, and repeatable architectures. These patterns make it faster and easier to build high-quality, business-ready solutions that go beyond efficiency to unlock new value across industries and use cases.


You’ll also collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to ensure the platform evolves alongside those patterns—with the features, primitives, and tools that make it easier for solution engineers to build, customize, operate, and maintain powerful AI-driven outcomes for customers.


This is a strategic, creative, and hands-on role at the intersection of product strategy, customer delivery, and platform evolution—ideal for someone who blends design thinking, business insight, and technical fluency, with a passion for turning complex challenges into scalable, AI-powered products that transform how businesses operate and engage the world.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve reusable solution patterns that address meaningful business problems with applied AI—supporting both internal workflows and external, market-facing experiences
  • Drive productization of patterns—including logic, AI tools/systems, workflows, data models, and configuration layers—ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and well-documented
  • Identify recurring needs and successful approaches informed by real-world implementation in partnership with Solution Delivery, and translate those into productized assets like templates, experience frameworks, standards, and reference architectures
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineering to define and prioritize core platform capabilities that support pattern delivery—such as primitives, developer tools, solution-building interfaces, and AI enablement
  • Ensure that solution patterns include not just technical scaffolding but clear models for user experience, workflow design, and human-AI interaction to deliver best-in-class business results and user experience
  • Partner with Solution Engineers and Designers to create patterns that are intuitive to implement and easy to tailor to specific customer needs
  • Bring a design mindset to the structure of solutions—clarifying user journeys, decision points, feedback loops, and overall usability
  • Be a relentlessly curious leader, critic, and champion of emerging AI capabilities, strategies, protocols, and providers—seeing through the hype, and translating them into practical, scalable components
  • Contribute to internal enablement through playbooks, documentation, and reusable assets that help teams (and future partners) implement consistent, high-quality solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product, solution architecture, hands-on consulting, or delivery roles, ideally spanning both customer-facing problem solving and platform-level thinking
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into scalable, user-centered solutions, ideally across a range of industries or client types
  • Experience shaping reusable patterns, templates, or frameworks—whether architectural, experiential, or operational - in a product or services environment
  • Strong technical fluency in modern software systems (e.g. APIs, workflows, data integration, cloud services), and experience with AI/ML platforms or intelligent automation frameworks
  • Comfort working with engineers, designers, and solution teams to co-create systems that are not just powerful, but intuitive and maintainable
  • Familiarity with user journey mapping, human-in-the-loop workflows, or experience modeling—even if not from a formal UX/design perspective
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize abstract or technical ideas into clear, actionable concepts
  • Self-directed, pragmatic, and energized by ambiguity—you thrive in fast-moving environments and take ownership from concept to execution
  • High bias toward action, curiosity, and a desire to work at the frontiers of what AI can deliver in real business environments
