We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a charismatic and enthusiastic medical or dental student to join Contour MedPrep as a Medical Interview Tutor (MMI and/or Panel). At Contour, our Interview Preparation Program covers all MMI and panel interview formats required for medical/dental entry in Australia, with comprehensive workshops, small-group practice sessions, 1-on-1 feedback and hundreds of practice stations designed to give students everything they need to succeed.

As a current medical or dental student, you know first-hand the challenges of interview preparation. Who are we

We are Australia’s fastest-growing medical/dental preparation company, specialising in comprehensive, innovative and results-driven UCAT and Interview preparation which empowers students to gain admission into medicine and dentistry. 200+ of our 2024 students received offers into medical/dental school for 2025, including 73 offers into Monash, 53 into UQ, 47 into JMP (UoN/UNE), 46 into UNSW and 42 into Adelaide Uni!

What you'll do

You’ll play a crucial role in guiding aspiring medical/dental students through their MMI and Panel Interviews. Drawing upon your firsthand interview experience and passion for education, you’ll deliver engaging group sessions, detailed feedback videos, and practical resources. Your expertise will help students build the essential skills and confidence needed to excel in their medical and dental interviews.

Key Responsibilities

Lesson Delivery & Workshop Participation

  • Conduct interactive small-group practice sessions (1-hour), observing and providing detailed, personalised feedback in Zoom breakout rooms.
  • Attend and actively support online 3-hour workshops led by the Head Tutor, providing live feedback to students in breakout rooms and promptly answering student queries via Zoom chat.

Personalised Student Feedback

  • Run tailored 1-on-1 consultations with students and create impactful 5-minute student feedback videos to highlight students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Provide continuous support to students through text messaging, promptly addressing individual questions and concerns.

Resource Creation & Content Contribution

  • Develop and refine practice interview stations, model responses, and answer guides.
  • Record high-quality model response videos to demonstrate effective interview techniques.
  • Contribute to enhancing program content and resources based on student feedback and insights.

Training & Team Collaboration

  • Complete comprehensive initial and ongoing training sessions to master interview coaching techniques.
  • Participate actively in regular team meetings and training, collaborating to enhance the overall student experience.

Skill Requirements

Role Requirements

  • Currently studying Medicine or Dentistry in Australia (or already graduated).
  • Comfortable using digital platforms, including video conferencing and online feedback tools.

Expected Work Hours (Oct 2025 to Jan 2026)

  • September/October [Training and Resource Development]: Variable and flexible hours for training and resource development before the interview program begins.
  • Oct 18 - Nov 10 [Off-Peak Period]: 10-15 hours per week for delivering the interview program (tutoring, giving feedback, supporting students etc).
  • Nov 11-Nov 30 [Peak Period]: 20-30 hours per week for delivering the interview program (tutoring, giving feedback, supporting students etc).
  • Dec 1 - Jan 15 [Off-Peak Period]: 10-15 hours per week for delivering the interview program (tutoring, giving feedback, supporting students etc).
  • Note: A flexible schedule can be arranged to accommodate your medical school exam schedule and any unavailabilities during your summer holiday period.

Compensation

  • $60/hour for tutoring daily small-group practical lessons (main part of the role).
  • $45/hour for providing video feedback, recording model response videos, facilitating workshops and completing 1-on-1 student consultations. 
  • $30/hour for training sessions, meetings, student support (text/email) shifts and written resource development (writing practice stations, answer guides and notes).
