UCAT Live Mock Invigilator

Description

At Contour MedPrep, we know that realistic simulation is the key to UCAT success. Our Live UCAT Mock Exams in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth give students the closest possible experience to exam day, helping them manage nerves, timing, and pressure. Students consistently tell us that our invigilators were pivotal to their preparation and confidence.

As a Live UCAT Mock Invigilator, you’ll ensure our mocks run seamlessly, from set-up to student debrief. You’ll play a key role in the medical entry journey of students and their families, providing professionalism, empathy, and support while creating a testing environment that mirrors the real UCAT. As the only in-person role at Contour MedPrep, this is one of our most sought-after roles, offering both personal and professional growth in a vibrant, supportive team.

Who are we?

We are Australia’s fastest-growing medical/dental preparation company, specialising in comprehensive, innovative and results-driven UCAT and Interview preparation which empowers students to gain admission into medicine and dentistry. 200+ of our 2024 students received offers into medical/dental school for 2025, including 73 offers into Monash, 53 into UQ, 47 into JMP (UoN/UNE), 46 into UNSW and 42 into Adelaide Uni!

Our UCAT & Interview programs are characterised by engaging group lessons, abundant resources and 24/7 support, as well as industry-first initiatives such as Australia’s first Simulated UCAT Testing Centres and Free 1-On-1 Admissions Consultations. Our students achieve record-breaking UCAT results, including the World Record UCAT Score of 3590 (2023), a 3060 Median (2024), 1 in 2 score 90th Percentile (2024), and 43 x 99th Percentile (3350+) students (2024).

Over 2000 students and 100 staff have joined us since our founding. In 2024, we successfully expanded our in-person Live Testing Centres to Brisbane and Sydney, with over 1000 bookings, and hundreds of new enrolments from all over Australia. In 2025, we now have permanent in-person centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and in April we expanded to Perth and Adelaide with free events for hundreds of students. Our growth is a testament to our dedication to providing ALL our students and parents with a high-quality experience (from 24/7 personal support to on-demand resources) and our commitment to helping them achieve their goals. We were listed as the 17th Fastest Growing Startup by the Australian Financial Review in 2022, ranked again in 2023 and 2024, and we're continuing to triple in size year over year! It's our vision to reshape education, one student at a time.

The Role

As a Live UCAT Mock Invigilator, you’ll run mocks smoothly and on time: setting up the centre, guiding students through the process, and representing Contour with professionalism and warmth. Often you are the first Contour team member that students will meet in-person, and you’ll make a lasting first impression.

This role suits someone with strong teamwork, empathy, and communication skills, plus the ability to problem-solve and support students. It’s a chance to face challenges, grow your leadership and interpersonal skills, and be part of a close-knit, supportive team, whilst also collaborating with tutors, consultants, and management to ensure every student has a seamless, professional experience.

Why Contour, and Why This Role?

At Contour MedPrep, you’ll join one of Australia’s fastest-growing education start-ups, working in a collaborative team where your social personality can thrive. Our culture is both driven and friendly — we’re serious about impact, but we also value fun, with frequent paid team dinners 🥳 and social events that make you feel part of a close-knit community.

This role isn’t admin behind a desk. You’ll connect with dozens of students each week, share moments of success, and play a visible role in their medical preparation journey. With demand for our programs tripling each year, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to showcase your communication and leadership skills while providing students with the most realistic UCAT testing experience.

Comprehensive Training & Support

You’ll start with a structured onboarding and training program, working closely with the Live Mock Team Leader and senior invigilators from your state's testing centre, to refine your communication and problem-solving skills while learning all of our procedures, systems, and processes.

By the end of training, you’ll feel confident running mocks alongside experienced invigilators, making the most of their support as you transition into the role. Ongoing development includes regular 1-on-1 check-ins, group training, and team meetings — plus social catch-ups that keep the team connected and supportive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set-Up & Pack-Up – Prepare and pack down all testing centre spaces (waiting, check-in, testing, debrief) with the equipment and layout needed to accurately simulate the UCAT.
  • Exam Delivery – Manage the full exam process: check-in and attendance, technical troubleshooting, professional invigilation, and timely conclusion with results provided.
  • Student Debriefs – Speak with students after their exam, showing empathy and professionalism, while addressing feedback and engaging confidently with parents.

Expected Work Hours & Availability

  • Around 15-20 hours per week during school holiday periods, including December, January, April (2 Week Holidays) and July (2 Week Holidays).
  • Around 8 hours per week during all other periods from November to August. (No Live Mocks run between August and November).
    • Note: Our mock exams are typically scheduled on Saturday and/or Sunday to maximise student attendance. A minimum of 5 hours of consistent weekend availability is required for this role.
